The expression on Lost Focus you entered...

Hi Guys,

I recently made a few minor changes to my database (renamed a field in a table, added a few existing fields to a form, changed the format in a few fields on said form and deleted a few fields that I had moved from one for to another linked form).

Now every time we try to do anything in the DB the message "The expression on Got Focus you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Object or class does not support the set of events"

This is the show help>

This error occurs when an event has failed to run because the location of the logic for the event cannot be evaluated. For example, if the OnOpen property of a form is set to =[Field], this error occurs because a macro or event name is expected to run when the event occurs.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Stuart

RE: The expression on Lost Focus you entered...

Hello Stuart,

Based on the information you have provided, you should open each form in turn in Design view. Look at the Property of each field on the form, under the Event tab of properties, be sure there is nothing in the On Got Focus event. If there is, remove, and if not required leave blank, but if there is code in there that is required, delete then recreate the event.

The On Got Focus event is available not only to all fields on a form, but the form itself and any labels. Clearing these should solve the issue. Or it will eliminate the obvious problem first.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

Kind Regards,

Richard

Thanks Richard,

That has worked but something else is popping up now, which we will learn to live with.

Thanks for your time.
