What does the term predessesors mean?

RE: Predessesors

Hi Ranveet,

Thank you for your question.

In terms of MS Project, the term Predecessor is a term used to describe the task that needs to be completed before the next task begins.

e.g. if you had two tasks, task 1 being paint room and the second task being lay carpets, the logical order of the tasks would be to paint the room first and then lay carpets so no paint gets on the carpet.

In this example, Paint room would be the Predecessor task and Lay Carpets would be the Successor task as it can't begin until the Paint room task is complete.

I hope this helps.

Regards

Simon

MS Project tip:

Autofit column width – Project (all versions)

At the top of the columns where each column name is located (Task Name, Duration, etc.), hover over the vertical column line which you want to move.

A short bold vertical line will appear, with horizontal arrows pointing left and right.

Left click and hold this icon and it will permit you to grab the column line, allowing you to move it left or right to your desired location.
