Numbers in columns of table

When I add in numbers to a small column of the left of a table I can't seem to get them to sit on the left hand side - help would be appreciated as the end of the numbers disappear :(

RE: Numbers in columns of table

Hello Kirstie,

Thank you for your question. I'm not sure whether you are talking about a table in Word or in Excel?

If it's in Word, in my experience, the column will auto adjust to keep showing the numbers you enter and they are left aligned already. You can also manually adjust the column width of a Word table by dragging the column line to the right of that column.

If it's a table in Excel, numbers are right aligned by default and you need to change the alignment to left manually. You also need to autofit the column by double clicking between that column header and the one on the right.

I don't know if I have answered your question. If not, please post again. You can also send us a sample file with this issue to:

Word tip:

Move your cursor quickly to its previous position

Use these shortcut keys to quickly move your cursor back to its previous position in a Word document (particularly handy if you are working in a long document).

Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Z (or Command Option + Z on the Apple) to automatically move your cursor back to its previous position. You can use these keys more than once and Word will keep moving your cursor back to where it has been previously.
