Creating new lines on excel, within the same cell

hi there,

im creating an excel database for a risk register. in one cell, I am writing several actions such as:

1. Additional posts have been agreed 2. Increased communications resource with 3. To contunually review our ways of working 4. Adopting MVP

what I want is for the format to look tidy and each thing marked 1,2,3,4 to be on separate lines but within the same cell (i.e. I don't want a different cell for each thing). so it should look like below, but in the SAME CELL:

1. Additional posts have been agreed
2. Increased communications resource with
3. To contunually review our ways of working
4. Adopting MVP

thanks in advance

RE: Creating new lines on excel, within the same cell

Hi Dimple

Thank you for using the forum

Pressing Alt + Enter should create a line break at the point where your mouse cursor is inside the cell.

Hope this helps

Kind regards

Wendy

Excel tip:

Showing all menu items

If you go into a pull down menu you usally find that you get a selection of items(this is the default) or sometimes everything. If you only get a selectiopn you have to go to the double arrows at the bottom of the menu and click it to get all of the hidden items.
To turn this off so that you always get everything, go to Tools / Customize / Options Tab / "Always show full menus". Make sure there is a tick in the box and you will always have every item.
