Mark as processed

Good day,

I have a tblDeductions, where I would like to record some deductions made to staff hours. We have a time sheet number (not relevant in Access) from which we deduct a certain amount of hours for a particular course as set in the tblCourse.
So far, I have it all working, however I'm struggling to figure out how I mark a deduction done tick box if that staff member (StaffID) has been deducted the full amount of hours. I have a Update query that totals up all the deductions made for a particular staff member, and the idea is that the update query ticks all the boxes to mark Deduction done. This part is not working and I'm struggling to figure out the best way to do this.
On the form where deductions are recorded, the cbo box to select a staff member should only show the staff members who have not yet fully deducted the course. Once selected, a different txt box should shor the remaining hours to be deducted.
This is the first time I'm using this forum, How would I go about uploading what I have so far?

I look forward to some much needed help.
Thank you in advance.

Marco

RE: Mark as processed

Hi Marco,

Happy New Year.

I am sorry about the late answer but I have been away on holiday.

I have been looking at your database and I have been creating a couple of queries which I hope will help you in the right direction. If you have a look at the TestQuery. It is a Update Query which will tick the two check boxes if there is hours to deduct. I have also created a query (TestQuery 2) which will select all records where the full number of hours are not deducted.

I have had huge problems creating a form which only will show staff where the remaining hours should be shown. I have some time Wednesday and hopefully I can get it right.

The database is attached with the queries I have created.

Kind regards

Hi Jens,

Thank you for helping us out with this. Can I just ask, how or where can I find the attachment you have uploaded?

Regards,
Marco

RE: Mark as processed

HI Jens,

I have managed to download the db. Thank you for this. We have booked ourselves onto a Access training course on the 26th Jan. I hope you are the tutor for this training. If this is the case, then it might be better if I can talk to you about this then. I look forward to hear from you.

Regards,
Marco
