Outlook Advanced course

Auto Text - Template

This was covered in the course, but my notes now don't make sense anymore, so I cannot set anything up:

keywords/phrases/single letters to automatically make text appear I have previously selected or put in somewhere to be used as template for frequently occurring words, phases, text.

I need simple step-by-step, please, thank you!

RE: Auto Text - Template

Hi Sarah,

No problem at all. In the New Message window, you select the text you want to use as Auto Text, then click the Insert tab in the ribbon. Click the Quick Parts button, go to Auto Text and click on Save Selection To Auto Text. Type / accept the name to save it under.

The next time you want to use the text, simply type the first few letters of the name it is saved under, then press Enter. All the text should appear in the message pane.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Marius

RE: Auto Text - Template

Hello Marius,

apologies for the long silence,
I have been too busy at work to sort this out.

Thank you for the prompt explanation, I have tried this out, and it works :).
