Standard MS Project Formulas

Is there any way of getting hold of the existing formulas in the default cells in MS Project?

I want to create a customised formula which for a a new column:

Start1 = "Finish1" Date of "Predecessor" + 1 day or "Project start date" if "Predecessor" is 0/valueless

Essentially this is the same as the default formula for column "Start" with reference to "Finish1" instead of "Finish".

So if i had access to the default column formulas im sure i could work out new formulas for my new columns.

Alternatively if these are not available, does anyone have a good list of basic formulas for MS Project or can anyone help with my specific query above.

Many thanks for your time.

RE: Standard MS Project Formulas

Hi Stewart

Thank you for your question. Here is a Microsoft article describing the syntax of formulas in custom fields.

https://support.office.microsoft.com/en-gb/article/Project-functions-for-custom-fields-7e525143-380f-4083-8d5a-3ecc6ba44f22?CorrelationId=2811c550-4774-4de8-8cc2-4e7eb15269a7& ;ui=en-US&rs=en-GB&ad=GB

I hope you find this helpful - let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

MS Project tip:

Compare Work and Duration

Duration is the timescale within which a task is done; Work is the specific time element used. For example, 3 days work in a duration of 2 weeks. To compare, add the Work field into the Entry table by right clicking a column heading to Add Field.
