Can you insert a picture into a table of get it to 'fill' the cell that you have placed it in?

RE: Table

Dear Claire

Thank you for attending Word 2007 Advanced course!! I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

Inserting a picture for the background for a specific cell is available in Table feature of PowerPoint 2007 but in Word you can only have colours as the background.

If you really wanted the pictures on the background of the cells then follow these steps:

1. I would recommend you to create the table in PowerPoint 2007.

2. Insert the pictures for the cell background

You do this by clicking on the cell
On the Table Tools Contextualised tab click on the Design tab.
Click on the arrow on the fill button (looks like a Bucket)
Choose the Picture you want.

3. Once you have got the picture in the cells and wanted it in MS Word then simply copy and paste the table from PowerPoint into Word.

You will note that wherever the pictures were the cells may appear to be blank.

Click on the Paste options button (Looks like a Clipboard) that you normally received at the end of the pasted item.

Choose paste as Picture.

Please note that you will not be able to add any information into the pasted item as it will be treated as a picture in Word and not as table.

I hope this has answered your query.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!

Kindest Regards

Word tip:

Comparing 2 documents at the same time in Word 2010

Word allows you to open 2 files side by side, very useful when you want to compare them for whatever reason.

Simply open the documents that you want to compare and move to the View tab of the ribbon. Click the View Side by Side button and then click Arrange All. Press Synchronous Scrolling and you will be able to scroll through both documents at the same time.
