Aggregate data from a column (Power Query)

FAO Jens

Thanks so much for the previous solution ref sum per month on Power Query however I could not get the steps to work to present the data to what I needed in my query

I tried an alternative solution using aggregate data however this is not fully automated as each new month added needs to be selected manually

Could you please have a look at my file sent and marked for your attention at

info@stl-training.co.uk

Please let me know if there is a better solution to the one I have used.

Many Thanks in advance

RE: Aggregate data from a column (Power Query)

Hi Kay,

Thank you for the forum question.

I will send you an email within 10 minutes.

I have added a step by step solution to your file and you can also see my query and the output. I added a new month to your raw data and by refresh the month was added to the output report.

If this is not working you must have something in your Raw Data I do not have in the example file you sent me.

This is the best solution I can find, but it will automate the process.

Hi Jens

You have been absolutely amazing - thankyou so much.

Excel tip:

Move to edge of data block

When data is held in a block, however large, use the Ctrl key with your cursors to move quickly to the far edge of the block. Works with all 4 direction keys.
