Efficency calculation
Hi
I would like to ask how to calculate efficiency in terms of output/input *100 as a % run rate
Example
20 bottles checked in 45 minutes
30 bottles checked in 1 hours 5 mins
50 bottles checked in 3 hours 20 mins
Using the above data, how can I present this as a efficiency calculation?
Many Thanks
RE: Efficency calculation
Hi Kay,
Thanks for your question in STL's forum.
To answer your question I need a little more information.
Are the duration entries in Excel listed exactly as you mention in your question i.e. do you have a cell that contains the entry:
'45 minutes' or does it just say 45 or does it say 0.45
And are the entries for durations over one hour listed the same as you mention in your question? i.e. 1 hours 5 mins or is it listed as 1.05.
It would really help if you would send me a little sample of the data as it is actually stored in your spreadsheet. Once I have that I can answer your question
Kind regards

RE: Efficency calculation
Hi Ron,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I am struggling to send the sample data to you as the above email keeps failing. Please advice on an alternative email.
Just to confirm the time entry is in (hh:mm)for example 01:05 and 00:45.
Thanks
RE: Efficency calculation
Hi Kay,
I hope I understand what you want.
Please find attached file. I got a little exited when I did it so I have added a number of statistics to my answer.
It is the column in yellow.
Kind regards

RE: Efficency calculation
Hi Kay,
I am so sorry I gave you the wrong email address.
It was .co.uk instead of .com
so ron.oldeboom@stl-training.co.uk
My apologies.
If Jens already gave you the answer you are looking for would you do us a favour and mark the query as resolved?
If not you can send your file to the right email address
Again, sorry for the confusion

RE: Efficency calculation
Hi Jen,
Thanks so much for taking the time for your answer.
I can see values vary from 16% to 27% in your example - what is the logic to the percentage displayed - is this the run rate? Is it assumed the higher % = more efficient
Thanks
