Calculating productivity
Hi
I am currently working on a spreadsheet that requires me to calculate productivity in terms of amount of work completed in a measured amount of time
for example
16 documents inspected in 2.30 hours
I need to present this as quantifiable data hence like help to understand the use of formulas and Rate calculations to work this out
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated
Many Thanks in advance
RE: Calculating productivity
Hello Kay,
Thank you for your question. I assume that you would be calculating the work rate as documents per hour, to compare different records. If you are entering the time in cells formatted as hh:mm (which I recommend), the root numbers in those cells will be fractional parts of one day (e.g. 2:30 hours will be 0.104 of a day), which makes it harder to calculate the rate.
Converting the times to whole numbers will make it easier to calculate the rate. To do this, simply multiply the time cell by 24. E.g. a cell shows the time in hh:mm, for instance 02:30. If you multiply this by 24, it shows as 2.5. So, 16 docs completed divided by 2.5 hours equals 6.4 docs per hour.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards

Hi Marius
Thanks for your reply.
Could you possibly share a copy of example worksheet and break it down in steps to help with understanding as I don't seem to be getting the same result
Many Thanks
