Hi Steve,
Thanks for the question.
You can create a task simply by going into the Calendar view, and click on the "View" menu and go down to the option that says TaskPad view if it is not already showing.
To the right of your screen you should see half way down your screen in the pane "Click here to add a new task" if you double click on the option it will bring up the dialog box where you can add your details of the new task.
