How can I embed Excel data from a working model (to update a tab from the spreadsheet) automatically for a periodic report?

RE: Powerpoint

Hi Neil

Thanks for getting in touch. You can get data to update automatically from Excel to PowerPoint by following this process:

Have your spreadsheet and your presentation open at the same time

Highlight the spreadsheet data and Copy it

Go to your slide

Right-click and choose Paste Special

Choose the option Paste Link, and press OK.

Now whenever changes are made and then the presentation is re-opened, it will be up to date. To reflect changes more recent than that, right-click the imported data and choose Update Link.

I hope that helps.

Kind regards

Microsoft Office tip:

Prevent macros from running when you start Applications

Macros are automated programs that can help you speed up your work. They can be embedded in caommands like AutoExec which will make them run as soon as an application like MS Word or MS Access are launched.
Sometimes it is useful to be able to switch off this function, and then can be done by the following method.
Hold down the SHIFT key when you click on the icon to start the program. This will suppress any automated macros.
