How do I find the form on word - I was told that there is a fax template stored in word but I cannot seem to find it? Thank You

RE: Form

Hi Shavaun

Thanks for your question.

I'm not sure if you are wanting to create a form or use a fax template, or both. I have included information on both for you below.

To access Word's in-built templates, go to File - New.

The task pane will appear on the right hand side of your screen.

Look for the 'New from template' heading in the task pane, then click the General Templates link underneath this heading.

You should see a 'Letters and Faxes' tab in the Templates box that opens on your screen - select this tab, then select one of the available fax templates, then click OK.

To create a form, you need to use the Forms toolbar in Word. This allows you to insert form fields into a document - these are the areas where you want people to be able to type or check in your form. Once you have created your form, you click the Protect Form button on the toolbar to ensure that people can only fill in the areas of the document where you have inserted form fields.

To learn more about forms, check the Help menu in Word. Forms is also one of the topics covered as part of our Word Advanced course.

Hope this helps - Amanda

RE: Form

Amanda,

I am trying to send a form via email by clicking the toolbar button 'e-mail'. A popup comes up saying that Word could not load the email envelope. This could be caused by a network connection problem or a problem with your Office installation. I can, however, send the template as an attachment. When I did the advanced word course on Friday I carried out this action the same way and the email fields came up in word. Any suggestions, or do you think it is the Outlook/connection that is the problem?

Thanks,
Ali
