Track changes - display for review

Hi,

I have tried to customize my track changes toolbar to include the display for review drop down menu but I can't find it anywhere. I have also tried resetting my toolbar but that wasn't effective either. Should this drop down menu automatically come up - could it be that it is not part of Word 2002?

Thanks,
Ali

RE: Track changes - display for review

Hi Ali

Can I just check that when you refer to the display for review dropdown you mean the window that displays Final showing markup/Final/Original showing markup/Original?

If so, it should automatically be part of the Reviewing toolbar in Word 2002.

Let me know if you are referring to a different dropdown window.

thanks
Amanda

Yep that's the one I'm referring to. It just doesn't show up! I can't find it anywhere..

RE: Track changes - display for review

Hi Ali

That's really strange! I can't think of anything to fix this off the top of my head but I will bear it in mind and ask some of my colleagues about it to see if I can find an answer for you. I'll get back to you tomorrow and let you know if I've had any luck.

thanks
Amanda

RE: Track changes - display for review

Amanda - it was because I had the track changes toolbar down the side of my page not on the top - for some reason Word didn't like it and the drop down menu wasn't showing up. It's fine when I keep the toolbar horizontal though. Sorry to trouble you!

Thanks,
Ali

Hi Ali

No problem at all, that's what we're here for. I'm glad there was a simple solution to the problem though.

Kind regards
Amanda

Word tip:

Configure paste options in Word 2010

When you copy text and paste it into Word, the formatting is the same as where you copied the text from originally. You can change it to match the formatting of the current document but to avoid having to do this every time you paste text, follow the following steps:

1) Click the Office button
2) Then Word Options
3) Go to Advanced
4) Under the Cut, copy and paste heading, use the first four drop-down menus to choose a default setting for format pasting.
