Delay sending emails

Is it possible to add a delay to emails, say 1 or 2 mins but have this not apply to emails to certain people or to anyone in my company?

Thanks,
Chris.

RE: Delay sending emails

Hi Chris

This will probably depend on how Outlook is configured however when you create a message click on the options button on the toolbar for your message and from the dialogue box that comes up you can choose the option "Do not deliver before" and set the delay you require.

I hope this is helpful - do let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Kind regards

Andrew

RE: Delay sending emails

Thanks for your reply.

Though my question is about settings that would apply to all messages. I wouldn't want to do this everytime i send a message.

At present i have a rule set up to delay all messages by 2 mins, then an excetion that says if going to 'example@example.com, example2@example.com, example3@example.com'.

This is fine if i email just a client or supplier. But if i copy one of the example email addresses it then excludes the whole email from the rule and thus sends it instantly.

Is there a way round this? My basic aim is that any email sent to clients/suppliers is delayed by two mins in case i remember another detail but emails internally are sent instantly.

Thanks for your help.

RE: Delay sending emails

Hi Chris

It sounds like your rule may need refining to handle situations where you copy email addresses. I'm not clear how you use the email address once it has been copied. Do you create a new message or are you forwarding the email?

Alternatively you may wish to speak to your IT team to see if a central set of rules might be applied once your email is sent but before it leaves your organisation. If your organisation uses Microsoft Exchange this may be something that could be configured centrally.

Kind regards,

Andrew
