Date stamps

How is it possible to have a date stamp for when the latest data was in the report?

RE: Date stamps

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your question to the forum.

To create a 'date stamp' to show the last refresh date, you will need to write a query using Power Query M. This involves creating a Blank Query from Get Data in Power BI Desktop and writing the script in Power Query. Once you have closed and applied, the query will appear on the right with all other tables. You can then use this field to drop it into a Card visual to display the Date Stamp. For more details on the actual script and the whole process, click on the video link below:

https://www.google.com/search?q=power +bi+add+date+stamp&rlz=1C1GCEB_enGB950GB950&oq=power+bi+date+stamp+&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqCAgEEAAYFhgeMgoIABBFGBYYHhg5MggIARAAGBYYHjIICAIQABgWGB4yCAgDEAAYFhgeMggIBBAAGBYYHjIICAUQABgWGB4yCAgGEAAYFhgeMggIBxAAGBYYHjIICAgQABgWGB4yDQgJEAAYhgMYgAQYigXSAQoxOTYwNmowajE1qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:c6b1c89b,vid:vM9D6xYo0KM,st:0

Now whenever you click the refresh button to update source changes, the Date stamp will update

The video also takes you through some DAX in order to refine the wording and formatting of the Date Stamp. You could just skip this part and simply create a text box entitled 'Last Refreshed on' and position this above the Date stamp.

I hope this helps and please let me know if this has worked

Kind regards
