Scenario Summary

Would you be able to add data to scenario summaries to predict % increase for upcoming years. For example, I work with cancer stats, so would I be able to include total cancer stats for 2020,2021,2022 and based on average increase use the table to see how an average percentage increase for upcoming years?

RE: Scenario Summary

Hi Emma,

Thank you for the forum question.

If you have calculate average increase and want to predict future years it is not really a job for the scenario manage.

The advantage of the scenario manager is in a model with several variables.

Example:

We know that the cost for each different cancer treatments. We have predicted the increase in cancer patients for future years. We know the current capacity to treat cancer patients.

Then we could use the scenario manager to build different scenarios.

What will the cost be with the estimated increase and the current variety of cancer treatments and do we have enough capacity?

What will the cost be if the increase is higher than estimated and the future variety of cancer treatments are different than current and do we have enough capacity?

If the only variable is the percentage then you have no need of the scenario manager.

If You have calculated let us say the average increase to 5%. I would type 5% in a cell. Then I would use a cell reference to the cell with the 5% to add 5% to my 2022 numbers to get expected 2023 numbers and again add 5% to my 2023 numbers to get 2024. You can always chance the percentage in the cell to another percentage.
