Data input

hi,
my question is about creating excel spread sheet from AutoCAD software. (extension *.dwg)
I print the drawings from *.dwg to *.pdf.
Any chance to transfer the info from the pdf to an excel without having the table? (Random text placement, around the drawing)
What I need, basically, is to be able to produce an excel table from the text of a pdf drawing (rooms names and assets codes from a ground floor plan, for example)

RE: data input

Hi Xell,

Thank you for the forum question.

When I saw the AutoCAD drawing I am pretty sure that it cannot be transformed from PDF to Excel. As I mentioned Excel needs to find a pattern in the PDF which can be converted to list format.

But there are other options.

To create an Excel spreadsheet from AutoCAD software, you can use the Export to Excel feature. Here is how you can do it:

Open the DWG file that contains the data that you want to export.

Select the objects that you want to export to Excel.

Right-click on the selection and click "Export to Excel" from the context menu.

In the "Export Data to Excel" dialog box, choose the options you want for the export, such as the data types, data format, and other settings.

Choose the location where you want to save the Excel file and click "Export".

AutoCAD will export the selected data to an Excel file according to your selected options. You can then open the Excel file and view or edit the data as needed.

Alternatively, you can use a third-party plugin or write a custom AutoCAD script to automate the export process.

You can also send me the PDF and then I can give it a go
