Hidden rows

I have been asked to work out the average, median and mode of a set of data values with hidden rows. Please can you help.

RE: Hidden rows

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for the forum question.

If you mean that you only want to calculate visible rows, you can use the Aggregate function.

This for average if the range is B2:B800

=AGGREGATE(1,5,B2:B800)

This for median if the range is B2:B800

=AGGREGATE(12,5,B2:B800)

This for mode if the range is B2:B800

=AGGREGATE(13,5,B2:B800)

Kind regards

Excel tip:

Adding Rows or Columns in an Excel 2010 Worksheet

If you want to add a row to an Excel spreadsheet, these are the simple steps you should take:

With your mouse, right click on the row header below where you want the new row to be added. Then, click Insert.

Follow exactly the same steps if you want to add a column to an Excel worksheet, right click on the column header, choose Insert and the new column will be inserted to the left of the selected column.
