Please first state which Training Course this forum post is about: hi,
I am trying to protect a row in excel workbook. I don't want people editing this row where I have some tick boxes. Is it possible to protect just one row and not the whole sheet?
regards,
Pally
RE: excel
Hi Pally
Thank you for your forum post
You have a few options available.
I would suggest selecting the entire sheet and unlocking the cells. This can be done by right clicking on the selected cells and selecting Format Cells. From there you can select the protection tab and remove the tick from Locked.
Then select the cells you don't want your users to access and repeat the process above with the exception of adding the tick to Locked this time.
You should now be able to protect the sheet as per normal and while they might be able to click on the protected cells, they won't be able to edit them.
Hope this helps
Kind regards
Wendy
