How can an Excel Add-in (coded in C# and other, not VBA) be made compatible with Mac.
RE: Add-in
Hi Florian,
Thank you for the forum question and the nice feedback yesterday.
It is a difficult question to answer and unfortunately, we do not have any trainers with the experience needed. I have tried to Google it and I have found a link which may be useful and also a bit of information (please see below),
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/29626679/does-windows-c-sharp-addin-for-excel-work-for-mac
The latest Office 2011 for Mac supports VBA interface, but there is no NET/Mono or XCode interface for this.
Can you create an Add-in for Mac?
Office 2011 for Mac supports AppleScript. Most of VBA interface which was removed in Office for Mac 2007 was put back. You end-up using AppleScript (via Automator) to code
Will your Add-ins written in Add-in-Express be compatible in Office/Mac?
Both Office 2011 for Mac and Office 2010 for Windows share same VBA interface.
There is support for WordApplication, PowerPointApplication, ExcelApplication. Since C# syntax follows closely to VBA, most of codes written in Windows will be identical in Mac.
Kind regards

Excel tip:Viewing Many WorksheetsIf there are more worksheets in your workbook than there is room to show all their tabs at the bottom of the screen - Right click on the navigation arrows. A list of all your worksheets is shown. You just click on the one that you want to access. If you have more than 15 worksheets, select in the list and choose your worksheet from hundreds. |
