Slide Masters

Hi

when working on multiple documents and then combining into one i have found the issue that the master from each doc gets copied into the final document with the slides i am copying across. this results in having many many masters in one slide.

is there a way you can copy across a slide from another document without it dragging across the master as well?

thanks
jenny

RE: Slide Masters

Hello Jenny,

Thank you for your question regarding slide masters in PowerPoint 2010.

When you say you are copying across from one presentation to another I presume you are using the Reuse Slides option which is found on the New Slide drop-down. If you are, the default paste is to accept destination formatting. This does not affect the master in any way. At the bottom of the Reuse Slides pane you do have the option to Keep Source Formatting and if you choose this option then it will create a second master to match the old formatting.

The same applies when you carry out a simple copy and paste exercise. When you choose to paste you have options to paste keeping source formatting or paste with destination formatting. Always choose 'Destination Formatting' if you don't wish to see extra masters appear.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.
