Word (PDF functionality)

We use an acrobate icon in word to PDF our documents which allows for bookmarks to automatically apply. With 2010 version assume we can only PDF using "print to pdf"? If so will this apply the bookmarks in adobe we are use to seeing?

RE: Word (PDF functionality)

Hello Nicci,

Thank you for your question regarding PDF Bookmarks.

Word 2010 does have the facility you require. When you create a PDF, go through the File Ribbon in Word, Save and Send, under file types section, Create PDF/XPS Document.

In the dialog box where you specifiy a location to save and file name, you will see an Option button, bottom right. In the Options are several choices of how your Word doc is exported to PDF. One of these is the choice to include bookmarks.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

RE: Word (PDF functionality)

Hi, Nicci.
I am not using adobe to print word docs and pdfs. Have you ever found out any solutions to your problem? I wonder whether I need to ask some 3rd party Word processing toolkits for help? And is that more convenient to using the manual Word Doc Plugins which can be customized by users according to our own favors? Have you ever tried the method offered by Mark? Did it work well? Whatever, I hope you success. Good luck.

Best regards,
Arron

Microsoft Office tip:

Automated backup with Recovery Pane.

If you ever have a serious error with Office 2003, there is a backup of the work that appears in the Recovery Pane when the application stats up again. You can choose to delete or save the files so that you can spend more time on creating documents, not recreating them.
