RE: Hyperlinks - what is the easiest way
Hello Tina,
Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft PowerPoint course with Best STL.
Thank you for your question regarding using Hyperlinks in PowerPoint to open a website.
To create a hyperlink:
1. Select (highlight) the text you want to add the hyperlink to.
2. Right-click directly on top of the text you have selected - there should be a Hyperlink option in the menu that comes up on your screen.
3. The Insert Hyperlink dialogue box will appear on your screen. The text that the hyperlink will be attached to is displayed in the 'Text to display' area at the top.
4. Select 'Existing File or Web Page' on the left.
5. Enter the web page address in the 'Address' area at the bottom of the dialogue box (it is a good idea to copy and paste this in from your browser window to ensure that the address is correct).
6. Click OK. The hyperlink is now set up. (If you have created the hyperlink in PowerPoint, it will only work in slideshow view. In other applications, you should be able to click on it straight away to test it).
You can also add a hyperlink to an object on a slide. Insert the object, such as a drawing shape, then right-click the object, select Hyperlink... and follow the same procedure as outlined above.
I hope this helps. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.
If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?
Have a great day.
Regards,
Rodney
