How to do a hyperlink in Powerpoint
RE: Hyperlink
Hello Victoria,
Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft PowerPoint course with Best STL.
Thank you for your question regarding setting up a hyperlink in PowerPoint.
To create a hyperlink:
1. Select (highlight) the text you want to add the hyperlink to.
2. Right-click directly on top of the text you have selected - there should be a Hyperlink option in the menu that comes up on your screen. (Shortcut CTRL + K)
3. The Insert Hyperlink dialogue box will appear on your screen. The text that the hyperlink will be attached to is displayed in the 'Text to display' area at the top.
4. Ensure you have the correct option selected from the left hand side of the dialogue box - for example, if you want the hyperlink to open a web page, make sure 'Existing File or Web Page' is selected on the left.
5. Enter the web page address in the 'Address' area at the bottom of the dialogue box (it is a good idea to copy and paste this in from your browser window to ensure that the address is correct).
6. Click OK. The hyperlink is now set up. (If you have created the hyperlink in PowerPoint, it will only work in slideshow view. In other applications, you should be able to click on it straight away to test it).
7. If you are creating a link to another slide, then select 'Place in this document' option on the left and select the slide that you wish your hyperlink to go to.
8. You can also use hyperlink buttons called Action Buttons which can be inserted from the Shapes gallery which can be found on the Home ribbon in the Drawing group OR from the Insert ribbon in the Illustrations group. These buttons are for moving from one slide to another during a presentation.
I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.
If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?
Have a great day.
Regards,
Rodney
