Protected View
hi,
Everytime i open a saved document, be it word, excel, powerpoint or access i always gets the yellow bar at the top labeled protected view, and i have to click enable editing. Is there a way i can stop this bar appearing, and be able to edit straightaway?
Thanks,
Natalie
RE: Protected View
Hello Natalie,
Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Excel Advanced course with Best STL.
Thank you for your question regarding the protected view settings.
Microsoft introduced the protected view mode to open potentially dangerous files without any security prompts to minimise any harm coming to your computer. You can view these settings by doing the following:
Click File Tab > Excel Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Protected View
There are 4 settings which are all active for your protection. You have to decide whether to disable these settings by removing the ticks.
You may aslo want to check the Trusted settings located at the top of this section. Please refer any issues you have regarding security with someone from your IT department as they will have certain policies in place which everyone has to follow. They will help you with the correct setup for your computer.
I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.
If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?
Have a great day.
