How can I insert a scan of a real signature on the signature on outlook instead of having a name typed?

Hi Maria,

Hope you enjoyed your powerpoint training course the other day.

First of all, you need to create the signature image. This may need to be scanned in and saved (eg. as a JPG or GIF file). Save it somewhere on your computer like your desktop, as you will need to browse to it during the next step.

Now all we need to do is add the image to your outlook signature.

In MS Outlook, go to Tools -> Options -> Mail Format tab -> Signatures button.

You'll see a new dialogue box appear with a list of signatures. Either select a pre-made signature (if you have any) and press the Edit button. Or, click the New... button to create a new signature, then type a name for your new signature and press the Next button.

You'll now be in the edit signature dialogue box.

Here you can type text, change the font/colour/size and paragraph style. Right click somewhere in the white text box, and from the context menu, choose Insert Image. In the new dialogue box that appears, click the Browse button to browse to your image file on your local machine. Alter any additional image properties if you desire, then press the OK button. The image will have been inserted, and you can resize it or move it around using the box handles at each corner and side.

Click on OK once you're done, then OK again to exit the signature list dialogue box. Here you will be back at the Options dialogue box, and may wish to switch your default signature to the one you just amended/created.

When you start a new e-mail message, your signature image should be there.

You may need to write your e-mails in Rich Text or HTML format for the signature to be able to include images. Change this setting in Tools -> Options -> Mail Format tab -> Message Format -> Compose drop down box.

Keep in mind, the signature may send itself as an attachment, so you may be sending attachments every time you send an e-mail.
