Urgent request please need answer by noon today !

I need to hyperlink from a word document to a worksheet in an excel document. how do I do this so it links to a particular worksheet ?

RE: Urgent request please need answer by noon today !

Hi Vicky,

To link from your word document to your excel file you would need to use the hyperlink function. Excel will open excel at wherever the last place you saved it was. So if you want to link to Cell A1 in Sheet 5 for example you would have to have saved you excel workbook with the screen showing Sheet 5 and the cursor in A1.

Hope that helps

Thanks Tracy.
What happens though if the spreadsheet is accessed and saved to another worksheet after i have hyperlinked say to cell A1 in sheet 5? will it then open to the next place it was saved?

Yes it will open to the active cell where it was saved. A good idea would be to hold the one sheet you need to link into in a separate workbook

Word tip:

Multiple Cut and Pastes in MS Word

If you need to cut and paste more than one selection into a document, you don't need to Cut & Paste repeatedly, just use the built in SPIKE feature.

To use; you can Cut two or more items from nonadjacent locations. This adds those items to the Spike's contents. Then paste the items as a group in a new location or document. The items remain in the Spike so you can insert them repeatedly. If you want to add a different set of items to the Spike, you must first empty the Spike's contents.

Here's how to do it:
Step 1: To move an item to the Spike, select the text or graphic you want, and then press CTRL+F3. You can repeat this step for each additional item you want to move to the Spike.

Step 2: Place your cursor where you want to insert the Spike's contents.

Step 3: select keystroke CTRL+SHIFT+F3 to insert and empty the Spike's contents
