Project duration

Sometimes when I make changes, eg: to resources, it changes the duration of my task.

RE: Project duration

Hi Clare

Thank you for your question

Project defaults all new tasks to being "Effort Driven". This means that the more resources you add to a task, then the shorter the time that task will take to complete.

To avoid this double click on the task to open the task information dialog. Select the advanced tab and then remove the tick from the Effort Driven check box. You should also set the task type to fixed duration.

Now if the alter the number of resources, the duration will remain the same and the amount of work will alter

Regards

Stephen
