Meeting Requests

Hi,
I did the Dreamweaver course in November, but I have a quick question on Outlook...
A long time ago a meeting request was sent to me with recurrence every week and the person who originally sent it to me has since left the company and hence I no longer need the reminder. HOWEVER, I am still getting this reminder sent to me, there is no record of it in my calendar as far as I can see except for once a week when it pops up to remind me!
How can I get rid of it?
Thanks, Jo Stephens.

Cancelling recurring meeting requests

Hi Jo,

I just tried to replicate your situation here (setting up a recurring meeting for someone else) and the meeting gets added as an event on the calendar. So we can go into the calender and delete the entire 'series' of recurring meetings.

However, you're saying the meetings are not appearing in your calendar. Perhaps do a search for the meeting name (see the search box at the top of your calendar 'look for...'). If that doesn't find it, what about when the reminder actually pops up... you should be able to open the event (rather than ignore it or dismiss it). Once you've opened the event (outlook calls this a 'series', containing all recurring events of that meeting) then you should be able to delete it.

OR, the person who sent it to you may have sent it as a task. Check your tasks in Outlook to make sure it's not in there, as tasks can also have reminders.

Let me know how you go, and if no luck I'll ask a few of our more experienced Outlook trainers to have a look at this question.

Regards, Rich

Outlook tip:

Change what you see when Outlook opens

Instead of viewing your emails when you first open Outlook, you can change the settings so that your startup view is different.

Here's how:

1. Go to Tools - Options - Other.

2. Change the startup folder under General Settings (e.g. to Calendar).

3. Click OK.
