Time Management

How do I ensure that I stick to my plan for the day?

RE: Time Management

Hello Helena,

Hope you enjoyed your Time Management course with BEST Training.
Thank you for your question regarding sticking to your plan for the day.

If you look at your plan for the day, ask yourself:

"What would it take for me to stick to my plan today?"

"What might get in the way of me doing so today?"

Once you know these things, then you can resolve to do what it takes to stick to your plan. You may need to make some agreements with others in your office to ensure that you hit your target. Others have their plans (or lack of them) too, and so better to work in synergy with them, than be fighting against them.

The other issue worth mentioning, is that if you are having trouble sticking to your plan, then it may be that your plan is not based in reality. There may be too much in your plan, and it is not acheivable or realistic, given what you are currently involved with. Only you would know that, so take a good objective look at what your commitments are.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Time Management question?

Have a great day.

Management Training tip:

Setting To Do Lists

Improve your time management techniques by writing down your daily to do list for that day on the previous evening. You then don't have to get up and wonder "what do I need to do today" - you just hit the ground running.
