Autocomplete

How can I switch off this function (it fills in postcodes incorrectly!)

RE: Autocomplete

Hi Mary

You can turn it off by going to Tools - Options.
Select the Edit tab.
Remove the tick from next to the "Enable AutoComplete for cell values" option.
Click OK.

Hope that helps.
David

RE: Autocomplete

I think your tip referred to an earlier version of Excel. As I am using Excel 2007 this command was not that easy to find but I have now located it via the Microsoft office button and then Excel options/ advanced.

Excel tip:

Editing Formulas in Excel Cells

Although people like to edit a formula in the Formula bar, you can also edit a formula in the cell.

To do this select the cell and press "F2". This puts Excel into Edit mode, and you can move around in the cell and make any necessary changes.

Double-clicking the cell also puts Excel in Edit mode.
