Macros in Outlook
I have had a request from a colleague to find out if you are able to use macros in Outlook.
She needs to be able to automatically send an email with an application form attached in reply to a request.
At the moment she has to open the email, click reply and manually add the attachment and then send it.
Do you know of a quicker way for her to do this.
I personally have never worked with macros so don't know if this would be available in Outlook.
Many thanks,
Esther
RE: Macros in Outlook
Hi Esther
Thank you for your question.
Your colleague could save a standard email with the attachment as a template, and then send this.
To do this:
1. Create the email with attachment and a subject line if desired.
2. Click the Save button. This will save the email in the Drafts folder in Outlook.
3. Open the Drafts folder and click once on the email to select it.
4. Go to File - Save as.
5. Select Outlook Template under Save as Type. Enter a name for the template in file name and choose where to save it.
To use the template, navigate to where it has been saved and double click on it to start a new mail message with the attachment already attached to the message.
I hope this helps.
