where is the solver option in the menu

Hi Marc,

The Solver option generates a solution given certain parameters. I will give you any example:

Let us say in A1 there is 50 and B1 is empty.

In C1 using the solver you specific the solution must be 100 to the question A1+B1=100. The computer goes through lots of possible solutions and give you a suggested solution of 50. This is a simple example but with more complicated formula it can be a very useful tool.

The default setting in Excel is when you double click in a cell it actives the formula in the cell. If you have created a link and want to directly go to that link (say if on another sheet, click on Tools -options and take off the tick for eidt it directly in cell
