Internet snapshots

How do I take a snapshot copy of a window from the internet and copy it into word or powerpoint?

RE: Internet snapshots

Hi Claire,

Windows

In Windows, you can press the 'printscreen' button on your keyboard (near the top right). This will take a screenshot of your entire screen. Holding the 'alt' key while pressing printscreen usually takes a snapshot of the current window you are working in. So you can adjust the size of your active window first, then press Alt+Printscreen to get a snapshot that way.

The above keyboard presses captures the image to your windows clipboard. You can then go to most applications that allow pasting of images, including Powerpoint, and use Edit -> Paste or Control+V to paste the image to one of your slides.

Mac

On an Apple Mac, you can use the following commands to create a screen shot (saves it as a file on the desktop as 'picture #' where # is a number).

Apple Key+Shift+3: captures entire whole screen

Apple Key+Shift+4: use your mouse to select a specific part of your desktop for capture (click and drag).

Apple Key+Shift+4, then press Spacebar: allows you to select which window to capture.

For Macs, you can also use 'Snapz software' to do screen captures, which is available from http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzpro

Then in Powerpoint, go to Insert -> File and browse to the picture on your Mac desktop.

Hope this helps,
Regards, Rich

PowerPoint tip:

Multiple Presentations

You can open as many presentations as your computer memory can handle, this is good for copying slides from one to another. To view all open presentations on screen, use the Window, Arrange All command. To scroll through all open windows one after another use the Ctrl+F6 command.
