Excel
Hi,
I am trying to use a vlookup for consolidation. I would like it to pick up the values from the P&L and BS accounts (Based on the account name) from 2 different entity's and pull the figures into the consolidation. Is the Vlookup the best formula for this? I have tried Xlookup but its not in the version of excel i have.
Thanks,
Holly
RE: Excel
Hi Holly,
Thank you for your question. Apologies for the late response, I've been on sick leave, which has left my colleagues quite stretched work-wise. Vlookup would indeed be a good function to use here if your version of Excel doesn't have Xlookup. You could also use Index and Match, if this was covered in the course you attended.
Just make sure that the account names in each table match exactly with the other table, i.e. no extra characters or spaces in one but not the other.
If you need further assistance, please post again.
Kind regards
Marius Barnard
