Charts minimum value

Hi,

I want my chart to start from a minimum value of 3000 from a particular cell and then add values (figures between 100-200) from a table.

For context, I have 3000 contacts from a previous list but I want to show the additional from a new list. So I dont want the axis to start from 0 but 3000.

I tried via the format axis option but that only makes axis start from 3000 which obviously makes the actual table cell figures disappear.

Also would be helpful if you could add an option to attach images to the forum which would make life easier. Obviously have a checkbox disclaimer for posters to agree any confidential data posted is their responsibilty. Just a thought.

Thanks!
Jay

RE: charts minimum value

Hi Jay,

Thank you for the forum question.

A solution is to plot values above 3000 on the primary axes and between 100 and 200 on the secondary axes.

May be the link below can help you if you want to break the value axis in two.

Excel tip:

Hiding Formulae in the Formula Bar

It is possible to protect the contents of a cell reference(s) from amendment by applying cell protection. The contents of the cell reference can also be stopped from displaying in the formula bar.

Step 1: Select Format > Cells > Protection.

Step 2: Tick Hidden option. Ensure Locked is ticked

Step 3: Select Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet

(Ensure "Protect worksheet and contents of locked cells" is ticked)
