Could you please let me know what is the purpose of consolidating data, linking workbooks and controlling link updates?
Also can you please provide me some practice examples of the above activities as I do not understand p11,p12,p13 and p14 in Excel Intermediate.

Thank you for the forum question.
The purpose of consolidating data. If you have a number of tables and you want to merge the data into one table and perform a calculation. You may want to sum up all the tables into one.

The purpose of linking workbooks. If source data can be useful to have in another workbook and the data should be updated in the destination workbook if the data have been changed in the source workbook.
