If I have columns of data, I cannot remember how to make them into rows

RE: Excel

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your question. To 'swing' your data from rows to columns (and vice versa), first highlight the data. Next, copy the selection, then click on a cell outside the selection. (This is important because you can't paste transpose on top of the original data.)

Right-click on a cell in an empty area, then click the Transpose button in the row of Paste buttons (fourth from left).

This will swing your table's rows and columns.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

Excel tip:

Transpose text

You can transpose any range of cells, turning the columns into rows and the rows into columns. Just follow these steps:

Select the range.

Click the Copy button on the Standard toolbar to copy it to the Clipboard.

Select a cell outside of the range you copied.

Select Paste Special from the Edit menu.

In the Paste Special dialog box, click Transpose, then OK.
