Pivot Tables
How do you insert a formula within a Pivot table? For example, the pivot table has 3 columns:
- # of Employees
- Total Salaries
- Total Bonus
In this example, I need to insert a formula that calculates Bonus as a % of Salary: Total Bonus divided by Total Salaries
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
David
RE: Pivot Tables
Hi David
Thank you for using the forum to ask a question.
Click on your Pivot Table and then choose the Purple Tab on the Ribbon PivotTable Tools - Options
In the Calculations group click on the Field, Items & Sets. Then choose Calculated Field from the Drop down list.
This displays a calculation dialogue box
Call your Field "Bonus % Salary"
In the formula use the =
(Double Click) Total Bonus / (Double Click) Total Salaries
Click OK
This will now appear as a heading in the Field List and will display on your Pivot Table
Kind regards
Richard
