Excel tutorial

Our course tutor was able to circle the particular cells or menus that she wanted to highlight and emphasize to us on the projector screen by pressing a key on the keyboard.

How can i do this? is there a function within Excel or is it some other tutorial application.

Thanks,
Diane.

RE: Excel tutorial

Hi Diane

Thanks for getting in touch. Trainers love this one! Very effective for demonstrations.

In Windows, open your Start menu and go to Control Panel. Look for the Mouse icon. Once the Mouse option is open look for Pointer Options and check the box "Show location of pointer when I press CTRL key".

I hope that helps.

Kind regards

Thank you Gary.

That answer was super quick!

Excel tip:

Counting Non Number Cells (Text)

If you try to use the COUNT FUNCTION =COUNT(Cell range)with a range of cells with numbers and or containing text fields you wil find that that the text cells will be excluded from the the count. If you want to include them try the the COUNTA FUNCTION =COUNTA(Cell range). This counts both text and number cell values.
