Pivot Table sorting
Hello,
I am using a pivot table for a report and wondered if there was a way that the Axis field could be sorted the way the table is picked up and not alphabetically?
The basis of the sorting is not something I want within my table so I had sorted it in the table before creating the pivot table.
Thanks
Christine
RE: Pivot Table sorting
Good day Christine,
Thank you for your post.
The two possible sorting methods I could suggest are:
1. After creating the pivot table, sort the data manually in the pivot table by clicking the sort drop-down arrow next to the column heading, selecting "More Sort Options" and dragging the items into the correct order.
2. Create a new column in the original data next to your sorted column, for a numbered list. Include this numbered list in your pivot table to use for sorting.
I hope this is helpful.
Kind regards
Marius Barnard
