Automatically copying data/cell

Hi,
I was wondering if there is anyway I can have excel automatically copy the information in one cell to the next cell to its right.
I have a spreadsheet where I key in sales and profit figures which show the total for each sales person at the end of their section, so I want this total to hop to the cell to the right so all the totals will be in one column and add up at the bottom. E.G. the total has a formula =SUM(C7:C30) when I copy and paste it to the cell to the right it just shows £0.00 as it is taking the formula and it becomes =SUM(D7:D30) so total is nil. Is there a way I can make the cell to the right take the information from the cell to the left and automatically update the information as I key more sales/profit figures? I hope this makes sense.
Many thanks,
Lisa

RE: Automatically copying data/cell

Hi Lisa

Thank you for your question. One way may be to just use equals and point the formula at the cell containing the total you need.

For example if the total you wanted to duplicate is in C31 then in D31 you could enter the formula =C31

This would copy the value from the neighbouring cell and it would also update as you changed the values in column C.

Do you think this might work for your data? If not let me know and I can look at alternatives for you.

Kind regards,
Andrew
