please could you kindly help me out with what i think is called "merge fields"?

thank you for your question and sorry for the delay in getting back to you in relation to your post

Well as far as i can tell you would be using these when doing a mail merge, the merge field would be the fields that you would be inserting from the source document that you create in one of the steps in the mail merge wizard

Word tip:

Table Headers on Subsequent Pages

To make sure that your tables if they carry on to subsequent pages have a Table header on each page.
Select the rows at the top of the table which you would like to repeat on subsequent pages, select Table, Heading Rows Repeat. Note this does not work if you insert a hard page break (CTRL+Enter)
