Editing Fields in forms
I have just added a wizard created button on a form, which opens another form while linking the two forms together and opening a specific record.
The only problem is after doing this i can change any of the values on the fields on the new form that has just been opened, the fields act as if they have been locked.

OK, lets take a look at some aspects that may be creating this:
1. <b>Form properties</b>
If you open the forms properties, and view the Whole Forms Properties (click on the small sqaure where the ruler guides meet at the top left of the form).
Click the DATA tab, and look at the following settings:
Allow Edits
Allow Deletions
Allow Adds
They should be set to YES.
2. <b>Source Data</b>
Is the form that you are trying to edit based on an editable data source?
In other words, if you open that form without using the button, and just open the form from the database window, can you edit the data?

yup everything you mentioned was on yes,and it was an editable data source

I noticed that when I clicked on the GO TO button on the overview form, that there was a message in the bottom left corner breifly as the form opens, that says " The recordset us not updatable".
This is the cause of the issue you spek of.
There are many reasons why this occurs and the best way to get lots of info on this is to go to the HELP in Access and type in "When can I update data from a query?" This will list all the details you may need.
