MS Project export to create flow chart in Visio

I am using Office 2007. I would like to create a flow chart from the data in my MS Project plan in Visio. The only information I want displayed per task is task name. For milestones I would like Milestone and date. I managed to do this in the network diagram but I could not figure out how to export to visio and have this minimal information because the visual reports require additional fields than name and start and finish dates.

Essentially I want a flow chart showing all of the tasks by name that need to be completed to achieve a milestone.

RE: MS Project export to create flow chart in Visio

Hi Tara,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately I cannot find a quick way of achieving this apart from copying and pasting each task name onto each shape in Visio.

Alternatively, you could export the project data to excel and use the Visio feature that allows you to link data to shapes.

I hope this helps.

Regards

Simon
