Formatting Tables

When I format my spreadsheet as a table is there a way to choose or edit the rows that are included as the heading? Default seems to be the first row but i want to include the first 3 rows?

RE: Formatting Tables

Yes, in 2007 Excel go to the Page Layout Ribbon and click on print titles. In the print titles area you need to go to "Rows to repeat at the top" at the end of this you will see a icon dispalying a red arowe in a box, click on this. This will take you to the worksheet. Highlight the headings that you want to include as Headings, then click on the floating box end icon to take you back to Page Setup box. Now click on OK, job done!!!.

RE: Formatting Tables

Hi Rachel, thanks for quick response!
This worked for 'Printing' tables, but the problem is with working/formatting the table. For instance: In row1 I have my headings,in row2 and row3 I have subheadings. When I 'Formatt as table' the 'drop-down' boxes are in Row1 and rows2 and 3 are included as info in the 'Totals' row at the end of my table. Can the headings be adjusted to include rows 1-3? or is it best to redesign tables?

RE: Formatting Tables

Are you working with a pivot table?

RE: Formatting Tables

No, excel spreadsheet.

Excel tip:

Deleting a range of cells using the autofill handle

Firstly, select the range of cells for which you would like to clear the contents. Then drag the autofill handle to the the top left corner of the selection whilst holding down the shift key. Your selected contents should then be deleted.
