Queries

I have used the query wizard to create a query to display the directors listed on a particular company, the data shows as follows:

[Company A Limited] - [Director 1]
[Company A Limited] - [Director 2]
[Company A Limited] - [Director 3]
[Company B Limited] - [Director 1]
[Company B Limited] - [Director 2]

As you can see from the above the query displays the information I want, however I don't want it to display the company name next to every director, I want it to display as follows:

[Company A Limited] - [Director 1]
[Director 2]
[Director 3]
[Company B Limited - [Director 1]
[Director 2]

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Darren.

RE: Queries

Hi Darren

Thanks for your post, I have had a look at it and I do need to consult with one of my colleagues, though they are training today.

We will be able to get back to you by Monday with a full response on this!

Regards

Jacob

RE: Queries

I have found the answer, it is as simple as showing the data by a Group, in this case it will be by Company.
Thanks,
Darren.

Access tip:

Related tables

When you have related tables such as Customers and their Orders, the Customer table is the Primary table.

Open the Customers table in datasheet view and go to the Home Tab and Records group. Click on the More option and choose Subdatasheet and then click on Subdatasheet again. Now choose the related table (Orders) and click ok.

Now you can click the + symbol by each company to show the related orders.
