How can I insert and use Hot spot?

Thank you
Stefania

RE: Dreamweaver CS3

Hi Stefania,

Thanks for your question. I hope you enjoyed the Dreamweaver CS3 training.

To add a hot spot:

1) Insert your image
2) Select your image (in design view)
3) On the properties panel, select which shape hot spot you want (rectangle, circle, or oblong)
4) Use the mouse to draw the hot spot (it will appear as a blue area on your image). For oblong, you click the mouse button to mark your points of the oblong.
5) Use the 'select' tool to move the hot spot or adjust the size using the 'handles' on the edges (the arrow cursor, next to the rectangle button on the properties panel)
6) When a hot spot is selected, the properties panel changes to show the document/link to be opened when clicked. You can also select target (eg. '_blank' to open link in a new tab/window).
7) Set the 'alt' description for each hotspot. Some browsers show a tool-tip when you hover over the hotspot.

See attached screenshot for more detail.
